Last Analytics and Matching-Model Notice
This notice supplements the Privacy Policy for Last's applicable analytics, identity-severed research, outcome measurement, and future matching/recommendation model development.
1. Production analytics
While an account is active, Last measures product state and outcomes using authorized profile, discovery, matching, non-content messaging metadata, date/outcome, safety, admission, feature, and performance events. Ordinary E2EE message plaintext is not inspected for metadata-based participation/matching analytics.
2. Standard hard deletion and identity-severed research
At standard hard deletion, Last destroys the production-to-research mapping. Approved research information may remain only under an independently generated random research ID.
Permitted categories may include identity-severed gender; sexuality/genders sought; age band only (18-20, 21-25, then five-year bands); coarse market/locality/county/state/country subject to rarity controls; authorized kink/structured profile/filter values; scrubbed/derived optional free-text representations; impressions/served-profile receipts; swipes/likes/passes/super-likes; match/unmatch lifecycle; message counts/timing metadata; approved report/block outcomes; admission/discovery/Reset/Delete events; the structured deletion-exit reason; and approved quality/outcome labels.
The retained research record excludes direct identifiers, exact DOB, exact/derived integer age, precise location, photos, bio, verification reference/template material, identity-verification images, ordinary E2EE plaintext/ciphertext, and any deterministic production-user join key.
The retained data is not described as anonymous. Rare/small-cell combinations may be generalized, bucketed, suppressed, or excluded from exports/training sets.
3. Deletion-exit outcomes
The structured reasons Found someone off app and Sticking with the person I matched with in Last remain distinct so Last can distinguish off-platform relationship success from a Last-attributable match outcome. A recovered deletion request is separately marked and is not treated as final attrition or completed relationship success.
Raw "Don't like the app" / "Other" explanation text is deleted at hard deletion. Only a scrubbed/redacted/derived representation may survive in the restricted research plane.
Deletion flows that do not present the ordinary exit survey use a distinct survey-exempt deletion code so analytics does not infer a reason that the user never selected.
When a user selects Sticking with the person I matched with in Last, the structured relationship-success label may be associated with the applicable match record. Because that outcome belongs to the pair, the restricted research representation may also appear in outcome records associated with the other member in that match. Raw free-text explanations are not shared with the counterpart.
If Anthropic is used to create a scrubbed, redacted, or derived representation of deletion-exit free text, that text is processed only under the disclosed limited text-processing workflow and the raw production-linked explanation is still deleted at hard deletion.
4. Beta Feedback
Raw Beta Feedback remains production-linked free text during its active lifecycle and is deleted at hard deletion. A scrubbed/derived representation may be retained for restricted research/product analysis. Automatically attached Beta diagnostic context is limited to the authorized non-content fields and does not silently include sensitive content classes.
5. Internal decision systems
Last may maintain compatibility, ordering, participation, conduct, safety, fraud-risk, admission, and quality measures. Internal score values, thresholds, weights, queue positions, market calculations, and protected decision variables are not ordinarily exposed to members and are not included in raw consumer data exports, except where applicable law requires disclosure.
6. Matching/recommendation development
Last may use only the restricted research features described in this Notice and the User Data Retention and Deletion Policy to develop, evaluate, validate, monitor, and improve matching/recommendation systems. Production-account mappings are removed at hard deletion, sensitive combinations are subject to rarity/generalization controls, and a model or material matching change is validated before Last uses it.
7. Anthropic triage benchmark
Anthropic may process only the specifically authorized text workflows. For replacement-model evaluation, Last prospectively compares model outputs on new live cases already lawfully entering the triage workflow. Last does not create a reusable historical raw-report-text corpus merely for model benchmarking. Stored benchmark information is limited to the applicable case record, model/version metadata, labels/metrics, and human outcome/appeal state.
